Included with your free account

Watchlist & alerts

Keep an eye on the stocks you follow and get an email as soon as a signal changes. No more combing through quarterly reports by hand.

Paper trading account

Start with €100,000 in virtual cash, buy and sell without risk and track your performance over time. No real money involved.

Signal notifications

Get an email when a stock you follow receives a new signal. The alert cites the underlying SEC filing, so you stay up to date without checking constantly.

Filing analysis by email

We read 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings automatically and report what stands out — a lowered forecast, a change of auditor, a going-concern warning. You receive a short summary and a link to the original filing, shortly after it is published by the SEC. The full breakdown is part of the paid subscription. Both are currently provided in German.

What is Inside-Filings?

Inside-Filings is an analysis platform for US equities that automatically analyzes publicly available SEC filings and translates them into signals you can understand. Every day we process thousands of filings submitted to the US securities regulator — Form 4 (insider transactions), 13F (fund holdings), 13D/13G (activists), 8-K (material corporate events), 10-K/10-Q (fundamentals via XBRL) and more — and turn them into traceable, source-backed assessments.

Who is it for? Retail investors, financial journalists and analysts who want to make informed decisions based on institutional market data — without an expensive data terminal.

What we do not do: Inside-Filings is not a broker and does not execute orders. We do not provide personalized investment advice. All analyses are based on mandatory public disclosures, supplemented by licensed price data, and constitute neither investment advice nor a recommendation tailored to your personal circumstances.

Who is buying what: 13F funds and insiders side by side

Every position a US fund holds, and every purchase by a corporate insider, must be disclosed — spread across tens of thousands of individual documents. We bring both together: which type of buyer is building a position in which stock, at what weight and at what point in time. Filterable by sector, market capitalization, buyer type and date range.

Insider transactions in detail

Officers, directors and major shareholders must disclose reportable securities transactions within two business days via Form 4. We analyze every one of these filings.

13F tracker: where institutional capital flows

Every institutional investment manager with investment discretion over at least $100 million in Section 13(f) securities must disclose those positions quarterly — Form 13F. This reveals which stocks are attracting capital and which are being sold off.

What funds and ETFs actually hold

Every fund and every ETF registered in the US must disclose its complete holdings — equities, bonds, weighting, quantity. We make these filings (Form N-PORT) searchable: composition, fund flows and returns per share class.

SEC filings and international disclosures in full text

Not just the US: we also cover mandatory disclosures from Japan, the United Kingdom and the EU.

Signals: from filings to an assessment

We condense ten weighted components into the Glück Conviction Score. Every figure remains traceable to its source.

Investment strategies based on published methods

Six selection methods documented in the literature, applied to current fundamentals from SEC XBRL. This is our own implementation of the respective published criteria; there is no business relationship with the people named.

Politics, calendars and market environment

Who reports when, who pays a dividend — and what are elected representatives actually trading?

Market overview and timing

The big picture: where does the market stand overall, and which patterns repeat?

Individual stocks and issuers

From the overview down to the detail — every data point on a stock in one place.

How Inside-Filings works

  1. Data sourcing: Every day we read official SEC EDGAR and SEC XBRL filings — straight from the US securities regulator. Our analysis runs on the original submissions, not on pre-packaged third-party scores; price data is sourced additionally from a market data provider.
  2. Signal calculation: Every filing feeds into one of ten weighted signal components (including insider purchases, institutional holdings, activist pressure, momentum, fundamentals, fails to deliver and beta).
  3. Composite score: The components feed into an overall score that expresses strength on a scale from “very strong” to “very weak” — supplemented by a risk penalty from 8-K events such as restatements or the departure of key personnel.
  4. Watchlist & alerts: You are notified by email as soon as a signal changes on one of the stocks you follow — what you make of it is up to you.

Watchlist, paper trading account and signal notifications are available immediately. Excel export and the advanced filters are part of the paid subscription; API access is also subject to a fee. Inside-Filings is an information service and not investment advice — all analyses are based on mandatory public disclosures and can be traced back to their source. Trading in financial instruments carries risks up to and including the total loss of the capital invested; you are solely responsible for your own investment decisions.

For companies

SEC data as a service, too: one-off analyses, ongoing data delivery or an API integration for your company.
